Graphic Design & Social Media Intern
Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity is hiring a Graphic Design and Social Media Intern for Spring/Summer 2026. This is a paid internship for 10-15 hours/week, with opportunity to continue into the fall and earn academic internship credit. As part of our Development Team, you’ll help bring our mission to life through graphic design and social media management. This is a great chance to build real-world experience in nonprofit communications.
Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity provides safety, stability, and self-reliance for families through shelter. Since 1990, Lakeshore Habitat has provided affordable homes to 183 families in our service area of Ottawa, Allegan, and Van Buren counties. Currently, we are building a 42-home development and another 9-home development in collaboration with Jubilee Ministries in south Holland, Michigan.
Responsibilities
- Social Media Management
- Assist with social media content creation and captioning
- Create and edit photo and video content for social media and other uses
- Schedule content across social media platforms
- Monitor social media analytics
- Graphic Design
- Create marketing materials for print and digital use
- Design graphics in Canva for email marketing, social media, print, etc.
- Other Administrative Support
- Assist in developing and executing marketing campaigns across multiple channels
- Support event execution and event marketing
- Assist Marketing & Communications Manager as needed
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in marketing, graphic design, or related field
- Strong visual and written communication skills
- Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Suite, and social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)
- Experience in photography is a plus, but not required
