Community Christian School is seeking a caring, energetic, and qualified Preschool Teacher for our 4-year-old classroom. The ideal candidate will provide a nurturing, Christ-centered learning environment while meeting the requirements of Iowa’s Statewide Voluntary Preschool Program (SWVPP).

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with Iowa Early Learning Standards and SWVPP guidelines
  • Create a safe, positive, and structured classroom environment
  • Support children’s academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth
  • Integrate Christian values and biblical principles into daily instruction
  • Observe and assess student progress and maintain required documentation
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress
  • Maintain classroom management that is positive and age-appropriate
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations
  • Participate in staff meetings and required professional development

Qualifications:

  • Must meet Iowa Statewide Voluntary Preschool Program (SWVPP) teacher requirements, including one of the following:
  • Iowa Teaching License with Early Childhood endorsement, OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with required preschool qualifications, OR
  • Meets Iowa Department of Education requirements for SWVPP teachers
  • Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Mandatory Reporter training (or willingness to obtain)
  • Background check required
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to model Christian character and integrate faith into classroom instruction
