Established in 1997, Harambee Institute of Science & Technology Charter School is one of the first African-centered charter schools formed in the state of Pennsylvania. With a focus on Science and Technology, Harambee is an elementary public school serving over 500 students in grades K-8. Position Summary:
The Occupational Therapist (OT) is a related service provider who supports students with disabilities in developing the functional skills necessary to access and benefit from their educational program. In a school setting, the OT addresses challenges that may interfere with a student’s ability to participate in classroom routines, complete academic tasks, or navigate the school environment independently and effectively.
The Occupational Therapist collaborates with the IEP team to design and implement therapeutic interventions that support students’ academic, social, behavioral, and functional development within the educational setting.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy required.
- Valid Pennsylvania Occupational Therapy license required.
- School-based experience preferred.
- Knowledge of IDEA regulations and special education compliance requirements preferred.
- Experience working with diverse student populations preferred.
