Entry-Level Electrical Engineer

Entry Level Electrical Engineer - Baltimore, MD

Responsibilities:

  • Create designs and plans, provide and gather specifications, and execute assignments in a multidisciplinary electrical engineering design role
  • Handle multiple simultaneous projects in wide variety of projects with both normal and emergency power distribution systems for educational, industrial, health care, laboratory, commercial core and shell buildings and tenant interior fit-out projects
  • Design of Power, Lighting, and Low Voltage Special Systems
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 99, specifically Chapter 6, and the FGI Guidelines for Design and Construction of Hospitals or Outpatient Facilities is a plus
  • Prepare Construction Drawings, Specifications, Calculations, Cost Estimates, and perform field inspections
  • Work with Management to respond to RFP’s
  • Represent the company in project meetings as needed
  • Competency in Autodesk Revit, and AutoCAD experience is a plus
  • Preferred working knowledge of word, excel, and windows

 

Qualifications:

  • 0-5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • EIT or the ability to sit for the EIT/FE exam is preferred, new PE a plus
  • U.S. citizenship for purposes of obtaining clearances.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, Effective interpersonal skills
  • Experience working on complex facilities design or for Hospitals, Data Centers, Mission Critical projects a plus
  • Ability to successfully work independently, while coordinating with electrical disciplines.
  • Self-Starter, self-motivated, and should prioritize well. Strong mechanical building systems background.
  • Possess a current state-of-residence driver’s license.

Work Environment:

  • Working hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with a 1 hour lunch break 12:00 to 1:00.
  • 80% to 90% office design with 10% to 20% field survey and coordination.
  • Ability to work from ladders, scaffolding, roofs, etc, and inspect below desks, ductwork, pipes, etc.;
  • Lift 50 lbs.
