Purchasing Intern
As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding of AirBoss’s purchasing and supply chain practices. Your internship experience will involve supporting daily Purchasing activities with focus on MRO Purchasing support, processing requisitions, issuing purchase orders. Also provide support on various compliance activities.
This role will require 100% on-site attendance located in Auburn Hills, Michigan and will not be a virtual or work-from-home position. This position will be year-round.
Responsibilities for Purchasing Intern
- Work with buyers and internal customers to process requisitions and create purchase orders
- Support daily activities related to supplier quotations and upload documentation to SharePoint
- Assist with updating contract pricing in QAD as directed by buyers or management
- Support supplier communications such as scorecards, supplier manual updates, and other supplier notifications
- Assist with supplier compliance activities including conflict minerals, modern slavery, and hazardous materials documentation
- Participate in supplier meetings focused on negotiations and pricing discussions, take detailed notes, and provide summaries to buyers and management
- Support buyers in obtaining quotations from vendors and following up as needed
- Identify and implement a management-approved cost-reduction activity for the organization
Qualifications for Purchasing Intern
- Must be enrolled in a four (4) year college or university
- Sophomore status or higher toward a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Purchasing, or a related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with internal teams and external suppliers
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
