Youth & Family Minister

The Youth & Family Minister is a vital member of the leadership team at Grace Christian Church. This role is designed for a leader who is passionate about making disciples of the next generation and partnering with parents. You will provide strategic oversight for our Children’s Ministry and hands-on leadership for our Student Ministry, ensuring a seamless spiritual transition for kids as they grow.

Core Values & Cultural Fit

At Grace Christian Church, how we work is just as important as what we do. The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Theological Alignment: Maintain a deep commitment to the beliefs and mission of Grace Christian Church, teaching in accordance with our established doctrine.
  • "One Team" Mindset: We operate with a "we, not me" attitude. This role requires active collaboration with the Senior Minister and other staff to ensure all ministries are moving in the same direction.
  • Relational Integrity: A commitment to resolving conflict biblically and maintaining open, honest communication with the Eldership and the congregation.
  • Supportive Leadership: A willingness to "pivot" and help other ministry areas during busy seasons, recognizing that we are all working toward the same goal.

Key Responsibilities

Children’s Ministry (Oversight & Administration)

  • Volunteer Leadership: Recruit, train, and schedule volunteers; empower "Lead Teachers" to ensure every classroom is a safe, high-quality environment.

  • Safety & Security: Rigorously maintain child protection policies and secure check-in/check-out procedures.
  • Events: Lead the planning and execution of major outreach events (e.g., VBS, Christmas programs, or community festivals).

Student Ministry (Direct Leadership)

  • Teaching: Serve as the primary teacher for 6th–12th grade gatherings, delivering engaging, Scripture-focused messages.
  • Mentorship: Build a presence in the lives of students by attending games, performances, and school events to build trust outside the church walls.
  • Planning: Design and execute a calendar of retreats, service projects, and social events that deepen student fellowship.

Administrative & Pastoral Duties

  • Stewardship: Manage the ministry budget, maintain accurate records of purchases, and oversee the student/family database.

General Ministry: Assist the Senior Minister in pastoral duties as needed (e.g., Sunday morning hospitality, visitations, or participation in the worship service).
