Medcat Volunteer Coordinator

Position Summary:

The MedCat Student Volunteer Coordinator supports the administration and ongoing development of the MedCats Volunteer Program and the Health Navigators Program. The Coordinator works closely with clinical and administrative staff to ensure efficient volunteer onboarding, engagement, and communication.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Review volunteer applications and conduct applicant interviews.

- Verify documentation and eligibility.

- Plan and schedule volunteer orientation sessions.

- Maintain volunteer compliance and training documentation.

- Create and manage volunteer schedules.

- Track volunteer hours and attendance.

- Host monthly volunteer meetings.

- Develop and distribute program evaluation surveys.

- Prepare Certificates of Service and appreciation letters.

- Collaborate with Bobcat Bounty to support the SHC pantry shelf.

- Attend meetings with the MedCats SHC supervisor team.

-Collaborate with HPS to assist with staffing of tabling events

- Perform additional duties as assigned.

 

Required Qualifications:

- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

- Professionalism, reliability, and willingness to learn.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

- Demonstrated leadership ability.

- Creative problem-solving skills.

- Experience in student organizations, customer service, or administrative roles.

 

Supervision & Evaluation:

The MedCat Student Volunteer Coordinator is supervised by Rhonda Beagle Nursing supervisor.  The coordinator is evaluated in a one-on-one meeting before the conclusion of each regular semester. 

Pay Rate:

The MedCat Student Volunteer Coordinator is paid $11.00/hr starting rate. Hourly pay rate increases may occur annually, as determined by University Health Services annual budget.
