Waterfront Lifeguard

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening
community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Under the direction of the
Waterfront Director, the Lifeguard will be to ensure the and care and safety for all campers and staff at the 
Waterfront.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Shall work with the Waterfront Director to ensure that proper safety and instructional
equipment are available and in good repair.
2. Shall strictly enforce all waterfront safety procedures.
3. Safeguard the lives of all campers and staffthat are at the waterfront at all times.
4. Know the emergency procedures and respond appropriately
5. Shall actively participate in all Camp special events and theme days.
6. ACCEPT AND DEMONSTRATE THE FOUR YMCA PILLARS OF CHARACTER: CARING, HONESTY, RESPECT
AND RESPONSIBILITY.
7. Attend and actively participate in all staff meetings
8. Follows abuse risk management policies and protocols including completion of required training 
on abuse prevention, adhering to policies related to boundaries with consumers, following 
supervision and monitoring guidelines for consumers, and reporting of inappropriate behaviors 
and policy violations including mandated abuse reporting requirements
9. Will demonstrate respect for all campers and staff
10. Will demonstrate support of and cooperation with the entire staff team
11. Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Camp Director
