Position Overview:
We seek a passionate and dedicated Middle School Math Teacher to join our SJB community. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for students grounded in Faith.

Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development and Implementation:
- Plan and deliver engaging and interactive math lessons that align with the middle school curriculum and state standards.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and encouraged to participate.
- Assess student learning regularly through a variety of methods, including quizzes, tests, projects, and class discussions.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to help them improve their understanding of mathematical concepts.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary units and projects that integrate math with other subjects.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians about student progress, concerns, and upcoming events.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in math education and teaching strategies.
- Foster a love of learning and curiosity about mathematics in all students.
Classroom Management:
- Establish and enforce classroom rules and procedures that promote safety and respect.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages students to take chances and explore new concepts.
- Monitor and manage student behavior during physical activities, ensuring a safe and respectful atmosphere.
Extras:
- Must maintain the cleanliness of the Multiroom, Office, and School Equipment
- Willingness to participate in Carpool, both Drop off (M-F, 7:20 - 7:45 a.m.) and Pick Up from (M-F, 2:50-3:20 p.m.)
Qualifications:
- This position requires a bachelor's degree and proficiency in middle school math concepts.
- Existing state certification or a willingness to pursue certification through the iTeach program.
- Successful candidates will have taken or be willing to take and pass the PRAXIS exams: (1) Mathematics: Content Knowledge (5165) and (2) Algebra I (5162).
- Thorough understanding of the Louisiana State Standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with students, colleagues, parents, and administrators.
- Ability to work and participate in our Catholic School Faithlife and community.
- Experience in classroom management and creating a positive and safe learning environment.
- Knowledge of age-appropriate teaching methods, activity planning, and assessment strategies.
- Must possess or be willing to obtain a Protecting God’s Children certification
