Under direct supervision of the Director of the Bureau of Public Information and Regulator Affairs, the Healthcare Quality Intern assists with deputy area program area with projects that support the agency's mission and core values.
The Department of Public Health (DPH) seeks two (2) paid internship positions to participate in the six (6) week Healthcare Quality Student Internship Program this Summer.
Provides program area staff with assistance in planning and coordinating projects. Participates in field opportunities, including inspections and investigations. Assists program area staff with reviewing and inputting data and reports into agency systems. Attends meetings and participates in conference calls with select management and/or program area staff. Assists with regulation promulgation process and review of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process mapping. Participates in the review of healthcare facility applications. Assists with gathering information for healthcare facility related media, legislative and constituent requests. Performs clerical duties and organize documents.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
State Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the related work experience.
Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
Agency Additional Requirements: A Healthcare Quality Intern must be able to apply knowledge and coursework to assisting with programmatic tasks.
**Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered in meeting the minimum qualifications, subject to approval by the DPH Chief Human Resources Officer, or their delegate.**
