Salary Range: $49,500 to $54,400 (commensurate with experience)

The County is currently accepting applications for the position of SOCIAL WORKER I. This is an entry level social work position that delivers childcare subsidy programs primarily and supports the delivery of energy programs: including but not limited to; interviewing applicants for eligibility based on state income guidelines; educating clients regarding programs and services; assisting clients in choosing the most appropriate childcare arrangement; completing reviews of all childcare cases and reevaluates continued eligibility and parental fees in response to changes in situation; ensuring correct monthly payments to providers of childcare services; maintaining records regarding all program areas; and providing ongoing case management and support to individuals served, and provides referrals to appropriate resources to the community.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
Requires a basic knowledge of social work principles, techniques and practices as it relates to the social and economic factors that challenge the individuals served in a social services setting; general knowledge of community resources; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others from a wide variety of cultural, educational, and socio-economic backgrounds; skill in mathematical reasoning and computation; and ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Requires Bachelor’s Degree in a human service field; or a Bachelor’s Degree and one year of human services experience in the areas of case management, assessment and referral, supportive counseling, intervention, psycho-social therapy and treatment planning or equivalent combination of education and experience; knowledge of growth and development of children with emphasis on special needs is preferred; bilingual Spanish skills preferred; experience with NCFAST case management system preferred. All Degrees/Coursework must be from an appropriately accredited institution.
