POSITION OVERVIEW
The Student Association for Campus Activities (SACA) is part of The Department and Student Involvement and Engagement (SI&E). SACA Programming Board (SPB) members are a dedicated group of TXST student leaders with SACA. SPB members uphold a strong tradition of excellence and professionalism. They serve as a resource and guide to incoming students. They take great pride in TXST while participating in signature events such as Bobcat Welcome Week, Bobcats Back, Homecoming, and River Fest. SPB members report to the Coordinator for Campus Programming.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist in the creation, facilitation, and staffing of Student Involvement & Engagement Programs
• Attend and provide day-of event support, including setup, breakdown, registration/check-in, guest support, and troubleshooting
• Create a welcoming environment for Texas State students within campus programming
• Support marketing efforts as needed (videos, photos, etc.)
• Participate in staff and professional development activities
• Help organize supplies, equipment, and space reservations for campus programming
• Greet and support attendees during events
• Support other office initiatives and duties as assigned related to student involvement and campus engagement


REQUIREMENTS
• Maintain at least a 2.5 GPA in both TXST cumulative and semester
• Be enrolled full time for Fall 2026
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• Available to work some evenings and weekends for events
• Friendly attitude and commitment to making campus feel like home for everyone


THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
• Demonstrates a high level of responsibility, self-motivation, the ability to work as part of a team and independently, and upholds confidentiality of sensitive information
• Communicates clearly and professionally with students, staff, and guests.
• Has experience (or strong interest) in event planning, student organizations, and involvement
• Ability to provide excellent customer service to all students and guests


COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
• $12.00 per hour

EMPLOYEE EVALUATION PROCESS

The SACA Programming Board Evaluation assesses a student staff member’s performance, highlights their skills and strengths, and constructively identifies areas for improvement. Student employees will complete an evaluation rubric with their direct supervisor at the end of every semester. Students will be evaluated based on the following qualities or skills:

  1. Programmatic
  2. Administrative
  3. Professional Development and Team Dynamics
