Communications Intern - New York City, Onsite

Position Overview:
As a Communications Intern, you will work closely with the corporate communications team to support the development and execution of external communications initiatives while creating content for blogs, e-newsletters, social media posts and more. You’ll be paired with a mentor to learn from and complete a communications project to present as part of our time with us. We’re excited to help you grow your skillset with this hands-on opportunity in a supportive environment. This is a 3 months paid full-time internship and based in New York City, NY.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Create content for external communications such as e-newsletters, blogs and more
- Assist in securing, facilitating and tracking media opportunities
- Coordinate with the social media team to brainstorm content and draft copy
- Support the team in executing communication initiatives including live events and brand marketing campaigns
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure marketing efforts are aligned with business goals
- Conduct research and report metrics for internal and external initiatives
- Fulfill ad-hoc communications assignments and provide regular status updates to management
Qualifications
Education/Experience
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field
- Successfully completed at least two semesters of coursework or be an upcoming Junior or Senior with a GPA of 3.0 or above
- Ability to work 40 hours per week (full-time)
Work Requirements
- Must be 18 years in age or older.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
- Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Willingness to work independently and within in a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
- Able to read and/or follow written and verbal instructions and implement the same.
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to actively listen
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Creative thinking and attention to detail is key
- Previous internship or Canva & Adobe Photoshop experience is a bonus

Compensation
- The hourly pay rate is $24.30 - $29.48
