Nonprofit Cemetery Assistant
Why we are here. In 1950, my grandmother Margaret Ellen was pregnant with her 13th child when her husband died. The funeral home took the family truck as payment for the grave. That image — my grandma a pregnant widow walking with 12 children — is why this exists.
Help launch your states member-owned $100 natural cemetery.
Funerals in America average $14K. We're building a different model to reach the 70% of people without a funeral plan: a nonprofit cemetery owned by its members, land held in trust, graves returned to the earth, family-led services. A $100 lifetime membership makes planning your funeral easy to justify. No funeral home, no embalming, no concrete or plastic caskets, no more funeral fundraisers. This is a return to family-led services like our ancestors taught us.
This is real work with real ownership. You'd help with land scouting and zoning, bylaws and board formation, community outreach, grants, events, marketing, or admin — whatever fits your skills and your schedule. Flexible around classes. Paid through Federal Work-Study if you're eligible, or volunteer hours if not.
We're looking for 13 students from every school who are detail-oriented, hate waste, and believe Rest In Peace is a God given Rite. If that's you, let's build it.
