Global Student Ambassador
Join the positive, high-energy team at the Russell Palmer Career Management Center. We are currently looking for Global Student Ambassadors (GSA) with different majors for the Fall 2026 semester. These individuals will report directly to the Associate Director of Global Career Initiatives and will be responsible for assisting the Global Career Initiatives team in providing career support to Broad students including promoting & supporting our global career programs and events and conducting valuable research on various global topics.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be a Broad College of Business undergraduate student (sophomore or above) or graduate student
- Possess excellent customer service skills
- Ability to collaborate, solve problems, take initiative, and possess strong time management skills
- Ability to work successfully both in a team setting and independently
- Need strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and complete responsibilities on time
- Employ efficient computer skills – LinkedIn, Handshake, Microsoft & Google Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Drive, SharePoint, OneDrive)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to operate office machines, such as computer, printer, and copier
- Able to work 8-12 hours a week, Monday – Friday during business hours. Additional weekday evening hours will be required for events and programs
- Have availability to support required programs and events through the duration of the semester
- Attend the mandatory required in-person training on Friday, August 28, 2026
Responsibilities:
- Have a thorough understanding of Palmer Center resources, services, and upcoming career events and programs
- Promote career offerings (including career events, resume books and company openings)
- Individually reach out to students in classes, student clubs, and student organizations to market our upcoming events and create more awareness
- Disseminate information regarding our events on social media platforms, direct emails, in class, etc.
- Engage with students through weekly tabling efforts to answer questions from students regarding events and participating companies’
- Present in workshops/seminars or student organization programs, events, and meetings
- Attend assigned events and assist with event preparation, logistics, clean-up, and employer & student attendee support
- Attend GSA training and regular meetings with the Associate Director of Global Career Initiatives
- Other duties and special projects assigned by the Global Career Initiatives team including, but not limited to career fair support, global engagement activities, and global market research
Any student who has reneged on a previous internship offer while enrolled at Michigan State University will not be granted an interview or considered for student positions in the Palmer Center. In addition, if a current Palmer Center student employee reneges on an offer, their responsibilities will be in jeopardy.
