• 0801-General Engineers manage, supervise, lead, and/or perform professional engineering and scientific work. The work of the position requires knowledge and skills in two or more professional engineering series within the Engineering and Architecture Group, 0800, and no one discipline is paramount; or is consistent with engineering work in this occupational group, but is not covered by a specialized series.
• 0830 MECHANICAL ENGINEER: application of theories, principles, practical concepts, systems, and processes related to: • the science of mechanical engineering (e.g., design, fluid dynamics, manufacturing processes, machine design, thermodynamics, and heat transfer), design standards, industry codes, and techniques;
• traditional engineering science disciplines (e.g., civil, electrical, and chemical); and • advanced mathematics, physical science disciplines (e.g., physics,
chemistry, and materials science), environmental science, and social science disciplines (e.g., economics)
• 0850 ELECTRICAL ENGINNER: performing professional engineering and scientific work concerned with: • utilizing and exploring electrical and electronic
phenomena and the motion, emissions,conduction, and behavior of electrical energy currents;• designing electrical equipment, components, or systems; and •
generating and transmitting electrical energy in an efficient manner.
• 0854 COMPUTER ENGINEER: performs professional engineering and scientific work involving the design, construction, and operation of computer systems,
including hardware and software and their integration, utilizing advanced mathematics, economics, physical science disciplines, and the traditional engineeringscience disciplines (e.g., civil, mechanical, electrical, and chemical engineering). The incumbent will devise software to integrate a number of devices (e.g.,systems, equipment, application programs, and components) into a computer system. Analysts typically work in areas of data systems, embedded systems, networks, and simulations.
•0855 ELECTRONICS ENGINEER: performs professional engineering and scientific work involving electronic circuits, circuit elements, equipment, systems, and associated phenomena concerned with electromagnetic or acoustical wave energy or electrical information for purposes such as communication, computation, sensing, control, measurement, and navigation.
The incumbent may serve as a project leader to state-of-the-art equipment /systems development, acquisition, and/or application of theories, principles, practical concepts, processes, and methods related to assigned areas.
MAJOR DUTIES 1. You will serve as a systems engineer responsible to plan, track and assess overall progress, and develop solutions for technical, schedule, and cost problems that arise during the design, development, test and evaluation, production, and initial logistical support for the Strategic Weapon System 2. You will be responsible for development and maintenance of system engineering and acquisition documents for a large DoD weapon system program in accordance with DoD acquisition framework and system engineering processes. 3. You will liaise across a diverse workforce comprised of technical branch subsystem developers, integrated product teams, contractors, and warfare centers to coordinate, deconflict and optimize activities and resources. 4. You will produce reports, metrics, and briefing materials as necessary to brief leadership on assigned work areas in program reviews, working groups, acquisition milestones, and system engineering technical reviews. 5. You will develop budget planning factors, defend budget requests to the Board of Directors, track and manage financial expenditures. SPECIALIZED EXPIERENCE Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-4 (GS-14/15 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Leading interdisciplinary teams as a professional engineer in the areas of the DoD acquisition framework and systems engineering of large DoD systems.

The incumbent develops applications for theories, principles, practical concepts, processes, and methods to research, develop, test, evaluate, operate, maintain, decommission, and/or direct the fabrication, manufacture, and installation of electronic devices used in diverse technologies and industrial, academic, entertainment, communications, business, residential, and healthcare environments; and a broad range of products such as computer systems, navigational systems, programmable logic controls, sensors, magnetic imaging systems, and defense systems.
The expert analyst has responsibility to identify and implement recommendations/solutions to problems, risks, and potential outcomes in the assigned program area. The incumbent manages technical efforts to ensure reliability and accuracy to related problems that involve involves the generation and/or application of theories, principles, practical concepts, processes, and methods.

The position is responsible for supervising and managing professional engineering and scientific work where the incumbent has knowledge and skills in two or more professional engineering series for which no one discipline is paramount or when a discipline is not covered by an established series Works in a combination of two or more areas to include the professional engineering fields of safety, architecture, civil, environmental, mechanical, nuclear, electrical, computer, electronics, aerospace, chemical, or industrial engineering.
The incumbent serves as a nationally recognized expert consultant and project leader in state-of-the-art equipment /systems development, acquisition, and/or application of theories, principles, practical concepts, processes, and methods related to assigned areas. Work efforts may result in establishing new theories and in a synthesis of understanding of phenomena which could open the way for future developments.
The senior analyst has independent authority to identify, develop and implement recommendations/solutions to problems, risks, and potential outcomes in the assigned program area. The incumbent manages all technical efforts to ensure reliability and accuracy to related problems that involves the generation and/or application of theories, principles, practical concepts, processes, and methods related to professional fields of engineering; their integration; and design requirements, standards, codes, techniques, and trade practices.
Serves as a senior adviser, to provide authoritative scientific, technical, and professional guidance or advice to senior level managers and engineers concerning unusual or critical problems that often affect the work of other senior engineers, support contractors, or may impact other significant programs. May conduct pioneering work of outstanding scope, difficulty, and complexity in unexplored or previously unpromising areas. Maintains technical expertise for cutting-edge technology through continuing professional education and training, symposiums, and technical liaison with other military activities.
The incumbent exercises a high degree of innovation, originality, and sound judgment to initiate and/or implement guidelines and policies to fulfill the mission. When deviating from traditional or established guidelines, the incumbent will adapt or develop new and innovative methods.
The incumbent is responsible for overall budget plans for many varied/diverse features of assigned program areas. The incumbent takes into account the costs/risks associated with operations of extremely complicated equipment, software, and unique components.
Manages team projects and activities to ensure successful performance. Coordinates and liaises with internal and external customers across a broad spectrum of government employees, military members, consultants, contractors, other government organizations, or private industry to plans organize and bring to fruition broad attacks on complex problems; the resolution of which may result in clearly evidenced innovations that could be of fundamental significance.

Mastery of and skill in applying, the art and science of two or more specialty areas of an engineering and/or architectural discipline sufficient to perform key decision-making and policy-developing responsibilities in very difficult assignments; formulate, evaluate, nurture, and promote the generation and exchange of new theories, concepts, principles, methods, applications, and practices; plan, evaluate, and execute short- and long-range programs which impact national or international issues; serve as an authoritative expert and consultant on broad programs, highly specialized fields, or industries that affect national or international interests, the well-being of the public and the nation, and/or the sustainability of natural resources and environments; and extend the existing parameters of engineering or architecture knowledge and its application and practice.
Knowledge of DOD and DON budgetary and financial management systems, and Federal procurement practices.
Knowledge and skill in communicating effectively orally and in writing, including the preparation and proficient presentation of briefings and talks to high-ranking military (through Flag Officer) and civilian (through Senior Executive Service) managers.
Ability to supervise technical/administrative staff operations and manage programs.
