Zoo Media is seeking motivated, creative emerging professionals to join our Publishing & Content Production Internship Program. This immersive experience is designed for students who want to learn how modern publishing works—across print, digital, audio, and interactive media—while contributing to real projects that uplift youth voices, creators, and community storytelling.
Interns will work hands-on with books, educational materials, scripts, audiobooks, and interactive media, gaining practical experience in content development, formatting, production workflows, and multi-platform distribution. This role blends publishing, design, media production, and digital strategy in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Publishing & Production
- Support the development, editing, layout, and formatting of books, manuals, and game-based learning materials.
- Format and publish content using platforms such as Amazon KDP, IngramSpark, and other digital publishing tools.
- Assist in converting written content into audiobooks and multimedia presentations, including narration editing, voiceover coordination, and file mastering.
Copyright & Compliance
- Help ensure proper licensing, citation, and intellectual property registration.
- Maintain organized records of publishing rights, permissions, and attribution.
Creative Collaboration
- Work with Zoo Media’s design, video, and youth‑creator teams to align visual assets with brand identity.
- Ensure cohesive design standards across book covers, promotional videos, and digital marketing materials.
Marketing & Distribution
- Contribute to marketing campaigns targeting schools, libraries, online audiences, and community partners.
- Develop metadata, keywords, and product descriptions optimized for platforms like Amazon and Google Books.
- Support social media promotion to increase visibility, reviews, and readership for newly published content.
Qualifications
- Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Publishing, Journalism, Communications, Creative Writing, Digital Media, English, or related fields.
- Strong writing, editing, formatting, and layout skills.
- Familiarity with tools such as Microsoft Word, Adobe InDesign, Canva, WordPress, and Google Docs
- Interest in platforms like Amazon KDP, ACX, Draft2Digital, or other self‑publishing tools.
- Basic understanding of digital marketing, SEO/AEO, or audience engagement strategies.
- Ability to collaborate across creative teams and manage deadlines independently.
