This is a Full Time, Grant Funded position with benefits.
Preference may be given to candidates who are bilingual in English and Spanish.
The Opportunity:
Under direct leadership of the assigned supervisor, assists, develops, designs, monitors, coordinates, evaluates, and administers health education and prevention activities in Utah County. Performs complex clerical, technical, and other required work at the full performance level.
Grade:
Health Educator II – 723
Health Educator I - 721
Health Education Technician - 720
Starting Pay:
723: $28.67 - $32.94 per hour
721: $24.95 - $28.67 per hour
720: $23.27 - $26.74
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Job Qualifications – Health Educator II:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Health, Community Health, Health Promotion, Public Health, or a closely related field.
2. Four (4) years of work experience in public health, or a related field.
3. A completed, related master’s degree may be substituted for two (2) years of health education work experience.
Job Qualifications – Health Educator I:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Health, Community Health, Health Promotion, Public Health, or a closely related field.
2. Two (2) years of work experience in public health or a related field.
3. A completed, related master’s degree may be substituted for two (2) years of health education work experience.
Job Qualifications – Health Education Technician:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Community Health, Health Promotion, Public Health, or a related field.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
1. Incumbents must obtain, and thereafter maintain certification through the national certifying boards in one of the following during the first twelve (12) months in position:
a. Certification in Public Health (CPH)
b. Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES)
2. Incumbent may be required to complete Substance Abuse Prevention Specialist Training (SAPST) within the probationary period for new hires or the trial period for promoted County employees when applicable.
