JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Communications Summer Internship 2026

ACCOUNTABLE TO: Director of Communications

PURPOSE: The Communications Intern supports the mission and ministry of Roswell Presbyterian Church by contributing to the creation of compelling visual and digital content across platforms. As a key member of the Communications Team, the intern will assist with communication efforts that enhance RPC’s messaging, storytelling, and brand identity. This role offers hands-on experience in church communications and provides opportunities to collaborate with ministry leaders while growing creatively, technically, and spiritually.

STATUS: Paid Internship ($10 an hour)

10 Week Internship (20 hours a week) Flex Sundays

ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM: The Roswell Presbyterian Church (RPC) internship is a paid, short-term opportunity offering hands-on experience in communications ministry. Interns gain practical skills in visual storytelling, digital engagement, and collaborative project work within a church setting. Employment is contingent upon passing a drug screen and background check.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Communications Intern plays an active role in supporting Roswell Presbyterian Church’s communication efforts through creative storytelling and digital media production.

(1) Content Creation and Digital Media Support (a) Collaborate with the Communications Team and ministry staff to develop and implement communication strategies across digital platforms.

(b) Assist with Sunday worship livestream.

(c) Contribute to graphic design production that reflects RPC’s mission and voice.

(d) Capture and curate photography to support web and internal communication needs.

(e) Brainstorm and contribute to content ideas and campaigns that reflect RPC’s mission and voice.

 

(2) Serve as a team member of Communications and RPC Staff

(a) Participate in regular Communications Team meetings, offering input and learning about team processes and planning.

(b) Work collaboratively with church staff to support communications needs across various ministry areas.

(c) Support the Communications Team in day-to-day tasks and special projects as assigned.

(d) This internship provides valuable hands-on experience in communications ministry and helps equip the intern with practical skills in visual storytelling, project collaboration, and digital engagement within a church setting.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

● A basic knowledge of communications, with an interest in one or more of the following: video production, graphic design, copywriting as well as an understanding of digital media platforms (e.g., email marketing, YouTube and livestream production).

● Proficiency in, or a willingness to learn, tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and video editing software.

 

● Basic skills and interest in one or more of the following— graphic design (with attention to brand alignment, composition, and typography), photography, video production, and copy writing

● Good verbal and written communication, attention to detail, and clear messaging are essential.

● Able to generate graphics for church promotions and manage time well to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.

 

● Be able to work both independently and with a team, take initiative, accept feedback, and adapt quickly.

● Be willing to work a flexible schedule, including Sundays and some evenings.
