Global Short-Term Project: Inanna Certifications (Virtual)
Are you ready to put your business knowledge into practice and gain valuable real-world experience? The MSU Broad College of Business and the Russell Palmer Career Center are excited to announce this Summer 2026 Global Short-Term Project with Inanna Certifications. Summer global short-term projects are designed for eligible Broad students who have not secured full-time internships over the summer. These unique opportunities allows students to collaborate with companies to tackle challenges and develop innovative solutions.
Project Description and Scope:
Inanna Certifications is a third-party certification organization advancing safety, transparency, and evidence-based standards for products marketed toward women. We are preparing to expand into a new regulated women’s health product category and are seeking a graduate-level student to conduct a structured market analysis to inform executive-level strategic decision-making.
This project will directly support category entry planning, competitive positioning, and long-term growth strategy within a highly regulated and trust-sensitive sector.
The selected student will evaluate the competitive landscape, certification and regulatory environment, consumer trust drivers, purchasing behavior, and overall market growth dynamics within this product vertical. The final analysis will inform real-world expansion decisions and senior-level planning.
Because this work relates to pre-launch strategy, a confidentiality agreement will be required prior to project commencement.
Project Methodology:
The student will apply a structured strategic analysis framework to guide execution and ensure alignment with project objectives. Recommended methodologies include:
- Competitive landscape mapping
- SWOT analysis
- Market sizing and growth modeling
- Regulatory and certification environment review
- Consumer behavior and trust driver analysis
- Identification of barriers to entry and differentiation opportunities
The student will conduct rigorous secondary research using industry reports, regulatory publications, academic literature, and credible market data sources. If appropriate, the student may propose limited primary research methodologies, such as structured surveys or expert interviews.
The project will follow a milestone-based structure:
- Week 1–2: Research plan development and landscape mapping
- Week 3–5: Deep market and regulatory analysis
- Week 6–7: Strategic synthesis and drafting
- Final Week: Executive summary and presentation development
Weekly/Biweekly check-ins will be held to review progress and ensure strategic alignment.
Project Deliverables:
Upon completion, the student will provide:
- A comprehensive written market analysis report (approximately 15–25 pages) suitable for executive review.
- A 2–3 page executive summary highlighting key findings and strategic recommendations.
- A professional presentation deck summarizing insights, risks, and recommended next steps.
All deliverables should be professional-grade and structured for real-world strategic application.
Required Qualifications:
Students must be a graduate student enrolled in Business Data Science & Analytics, Marketing, Marketing Research & Analytics, Finance, or MBA programs.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Ability to synthesize complex information into clear strategic insights
- Experience working with secondary research sources and industry reports
- Strong written communication skills capable of producing executive-level deliverables
- Familiarity with structured analysis frameworks such as SWOT, Porter’s Five Forces, and market sizing methodologies
Students must be comfortable working independently, managing deadlines, and engaging in structured strategic discussions with project leadership.
