Group Fitness Instructor
NOTE: THIS IS FOR THE ROUND ROCK CAMPUS
Texas State Campus Recreation, Round Rock Campus, is seeking enthusiastic individuals to lead safe and effective group exercise classes to a diverse population. The Group Fitness Instructor is responsible for providing a positive workout experience by designing workouts for participants of all levels and abilities, providing progressions and regressions when necessary, and educating patrons on appropriate fitness principles and techniques. Safety is the #1 priority. The group fitness instructor reports to the Coordinator of Campus Recreation, Round Rock Campus
Required:
- CPR/First Aid/AED certification must be obtained with 30 days of hire.
- Must upload proof of certification to this application.
Preferred:
- National Group Fitness Certification (ACE, AFAA, etc.)
- Must upload proof of certification to this application.
Employee Evaluation Process:
- Employee performance is determined once per semester. Performance evaluations explore the following:
- Group Fitness class evaluation
- Meeting Deadlines
- Meeting Attendance
- % of classes assigned, taught
- 2 positive evaluations make an employee eligible for a 0.25 pay raise.
Payrate Determination:
- This position starts at $14.00 / hour.
- Payrate increases are determined by:
- Performance Evaluations / Longevity: 2 positive performance evaluations and 2 semesters worked makes an employee eligible for a $0.25 / hour pay increase.
- Additional Certifications: Additional certifications earned makes an employee eligible for a $0.25 / hour pay increase.
Interviews will take place at Texas State University, Round Rock Campus, Avery 105.
