Chief Data Officer
Chief Data Officer at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City: Requires at least a Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Engineering Management or related field; 10 years employment experience in data management, governance, or analytics with 5 years in senior leadership role within the higher education sector; including experience with the following: data privacy; regulatory compliance and data governance frameworks; data analysis; leveraging data to support strategic decision making; higher education reporting standards (IPEDS, HERD); advanced analytics; machine learning; data visualization tools (Tableau or Power BI); and application of DMBOK and DAMA frameworks in data governance improvement quality and architecture. The Chief Data Officer will provide leadership in data governance, analytics, privacy, and architecture to optimize data management across the institution; shape the strategic direction for data initiatives, drive data-informed decision-making, and collaborate with academic, research, and administrative units on these initiatives; ensure the integrity, security, and effective utilization of data to support operational excellence; lead team of data professionals.
