Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Dispatcher to coordinate transportation operations within our logistics team. The ideal candidate will manage freight scheduling, optimize routes, and ensure timely delivery by utilizing advanced transportation management systems. This role requires strong communication skills, proficiency in data entry, and the ability to handle multi-line phone systems effectively. The Dispatcher plays a vital role in maintaining efficient supply chain operations and supporting fleet management activities to meet company objectives.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule freight deliveries and pickups using transportation management systems such as Samsara, Prophecy, and PC Miler
• Utilize GPS tools for route planning and transportation optimization.
• Monitor fleet movements via GPS tracking to ensure timely arrivals and departures.
• Communicate with drivers, clients, and warehouse personnel through multi-line phone systems, maintaining professional phone etiquette.
• Enter data accurately into various systems for shipping & receiving documentation.
• Manage dispatching activities for freight shipments, ensuring compliance with schedules and safety protocols.
• Assist with shipping & receiving processes, including documentation.
• Support logistics analysis by reviewing transportation data to identify efficiencies or issues.
• Collaborate with supply chain teams on transportation planning and fleet management strategies.
• Maintain organized records of dispatch activities, vehicle logs, and shipment details for reporting purposes.
• Cultivate relationships with shippers and brokers for increased productivity and business opportunities

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of Excel, GPS technology, and transportation planning principles.
• Familiarity with freight logistics, shipping & receiving procedures, and fleet management practices.
• Excellent analysis skills to interpret data related to supply chain operations.
• Proficiency in data entry, typing skills, and managing multi-line phone systems efficiently.
• Effective communication skills with professional phone etiquette for interacting with drivers, clients, and internal teams.
• Ability to handle dispatching responsibilities under pressure while maintaining accuracy.

PREFERRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation, Business, or a related field,
