2026-2027 Social Studies Teacher

Position: 2026-2027 Social Studies Teacher     

Position Description: Archbishop Hoban High School is seeking a full-time Social Studies teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This position includes instruction of five sections of Social Studies courses aligned with school standards and taught in a modified block schedule format. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to creating an inclusive and positive classroom environment, actively engaging students in meaningful learning experiences while encouraging a high level of academic achievement. Candidates should be passionate and dedicated to supporting students’ academic, spiritual, and personal growth.

Position Responsibilities:

• Create authentic assessments that consistently provide sound practice and feedback, resulting in student growth and development.
• Encourage a classroom culture of mutual respect and build positive relationships with students.
• Evaluate student academic needs and report student progress as scheduled. 
• Communicate with parents/guardians in a timely manner regarding student progress.
• Incorporate the Holy Cross core values into classroom instruction and daily practices. 
• Collaborate with fellow faculty members to design and lead authentic instructional experiences.
• Utilize a variety of instructional technologies in lesson plans and classroom activities to enrich student learning.
• Ensure compliance with all school policies and procedures to maintain a safe and productive environment. 
• Participate in school-wide events such as open houses, meet the teacher night, and conferences.
• Effective communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
• Maintain the confidentiality of privileged information.

Position Qualifications: 

• Valid Ohio Integrated Social Studies high school teaching license.
• Successful completion of a Bachelor’s degree. 
• Working knowledge of school technology (academic software, Google, etc.).
• Appropriate criminal records check by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Have attended or are willing to attend a VIRTUS Protecting God’s Children training.
