Responsibilities:
- Setting rigorous yet appropriate learning outcomes
- Provide developmental support to students learning to play instruments
- Establishing supportive relationships with students and families
- Engaging students in meaningful, developmentally appropriate, real-world discussions and learning activities to develop artistic expression
- Developing authentic and aligned assessments to measure student growth and inform instructional decisions
- Prepare students for public presentation of performing ensembles
- Prepare students for transition beyond middle school performing ensembles
- Collaboratively work with team members to fulfill the mission, vision, and beliefs of both the school(s) and the district
Certification Requirements:
- Bachelor of Arts or Science degree
- Possess a Louisiana teaching certificate Type “A,” “B,” or “C,” - or- Level 1, 2 or 3 in Instrumental Music
- Experience in working with various grade levels in instrumental music instruction--PREFERRED
