Band/Instrumental Music Teacher - Harry Hurst Middle School

Salary:

  • $63,000-$84,840

Work Duration:

  • 9 Months
  • 183 Days
  • 7.5 Hours/Day

Responsibilities:

  • Setting rigorous yet appropriate learning outcomes
  • Provide developmental support to students learning to play instruments
  • Establishing supportive relationships with students and families
  • Engaging students in meaningful, developmentally appropriate, real-world discussions and learning activities to develop artistic expression
  • Developing authentic and aligned assessments to measure student growth and inform instructional decisions
  • Prepare students for public presentation of performing ensembles
  • Prepare students for transition beyond middle school performing ensembles
  • Collaboratively work with team members to fulfill the mission, vision, and beliefs of both the school(s) and the district

Certification Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science degree
  • Possess a Louisiana teaching certificate Type “A,” “B,” or “C,” - or- Level 1, 2 or 3 in Instrumental Music
  • Experience in working with various grade levels in instrumental music instruction--PREFERRED
