Summer Student - Laboratory Assistant

Our Summer Student program provides an opportunity for students to apply their academic preparation to practical work experience in a wastewater utility environment.
Summer Student positions typically run for 3 to 4months beginning in May or June, and are onsite in Martinez, California. Work schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday; however, some divisions are flexible on hours per week.
To be eligible, students must be currently enrolled in high school or a higher learning institution, or planning to return to school in the fall. Students must be at least 16 years of age. For those students who have not yet graduated high school, a work permit must be obtained.

Laboratory Assistant
This position with the Laboratory Group requires at least two semesters of college laboratory experience in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, microbiology, or a related field. Major duties include chemical inventory, organization of laboratory equipment, field sampling, and routine gravimetric and wet chemistry analyses of water, wastewater, and their byproducts. Junior or senior standing is highly desirable.
