SMA Program Internship

Reports To: Administrator
Direct Supervision Provided By: Education Specialist
Work Schedule: Monday–Thursday (Schedule determined at onboarding)
Core Responsibilities
Administrative & Operational Support
- Answer phones and greet participants and community members professionally
- Assist with filing, data entry, and maintaining organized records
- Support case documentation and assist with case notes under supervision
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance standards
- Assist with tracking participant data and program outcomes
Direct Service & Case Support
- Assist with participant intake and follow-up
- Support case management services and individualized goal planning
- Observe and/or co-facilitate:
- Financial Literacy Classes
- Life Skills Workshops
- Sexual Health & Overall Wellness Education Sessions
- Assist in preparing curriculum materials and participant packets
Resource Room & Community Engagement
- Support operations of the SMA CARES Resource Room, including:
- Organizing and distributing baby items and feminine hygiene products
- Assisting families with accessing essential resources
- Support the Social Suds Resource Center and Laundromat, including:
- Stocking books, condoms, hygiene supplies, job listings, and resource materials
- Assisting participants utilizing the space
- Support the Community Computer Lab by:
- Assisting participants with job searches, resume access, and online applications
- Maintaining an organized and welcoming technology space
Outreach & Events
- Participate in weekly community outreach efforts
- Support community events and workshops
- Assist with event setup, participant engagement, and follow-up
