As the Aerospace Advanced Process Controls Engineer (APC) you focus on designing, developing, and implementing new or revised production processes for the efficient/economical mass production of goods including:
Designing and improving controls of manufacturing equipment to ensure most efficient processes
Designing the sequence of production operations, specifying procedures for the fabrication of applicable tools and equipment, and adapting machinery in response to factory conditions
Conducting tests throughout all stages of production to determine control over applicable variables and troubleshooting/solving production problems
Providing guidance to product design engineering on technical specifications that will best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
Ensuring that production processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
In this role you may also act as a resource to provide formal guidance for employees with less experience as well as possibly manage vendor relationships.
This is an onsite role at our Shelby, NC facility and you will report to the Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities:
Participate in the development and design of the controls of a Green Field Site
Participating as a team member in a specific phase of an engineering assignment; directing preparation of appropriate documentation for assigned projects; providing technical leadership to a small group of temporarily assigned engineers and technicians
Develop RFQs, SOW and directly manage vendors and contractors, plan and execute the totality of the project, direct workflow reviews as needed, and coordinate equipment installation.
Field supervision of employees and contractors, improving labor relations, and leading inter-disciplinary teams.
Project and special process documentation, including technical writing of standard operating procedures (SOP), operations manuals, and training documentation.
Assist with capital budgeting and fiscal control of projects, justifying ROA/ROE/ROI, total bid process including bidder lists and bid comparison, strategic cost avoidance and reduction
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Software, Manufacturing, Engineering, or equivalent work experience & certifications is required
Experience with GE Proficy a Plus
Knowledge of PLC’s is required, Allen Bradley PLC is a plus
Five (5) or more years of experience with project management in an industrial capacity required
