The City of Oakwood is currently accepting applications for the summer seasonal position of Laborer for the Public Works Department.  This seasonal position has variable and flexible work hours and pays up to $18.11 per hour. 

 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Perform routine laborer duties, including but not limited to the collection of yard debris, waste, and special pick-ups.
  • Assist in the planning and maintenance of lawns, trees, shrubs, and flowers around City areas, leaf collection, roadside clean-up, and assist with other labor projects as assigned.
  • Collect waste, including lifting and carrying up to 60 pounds for short distances.
  • Perform routine equipment and facility maintenance, including snow removal.
  • Repairing and patching streets, sidewalks, and curbs, as well as rebuilding stormwater inlets and catch basins.
  • Replacing traffic and parking control signs and lights.
  • Set and paint sign poles as necessary.
  • Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in facility maintenance, landscape maintenance, public works, or custodial work.
  • Eighteen (18) years old.
  • Valid Ohio Driver's License.
  • Able to lift up to 60 lbs.

 

Compensation: The pay range is $ 15.85 - $18.11 per hour, depending on experience and knowledge.
