Child and Adolescent Psychologist

About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Licensed Child & Adolescent Psychologist to join a well-established private practice serving children, adolescents, and families. This is an ideal opportunity for a newly licensed PhD or PsyD graduate who wants to start their career in child psychology with direct mentorship, or for a licensed psychologist currently working in a school setting who wants more meaningful, individualized clinical work and the opportunity to make a deeper impact.

This role offers the rare chance to learn directly from Dr. Timothy L. King, an experienced and highly respected psychologist with a long-standing reputation for helping students and families through an in-depth, highly personalized assessment and consultation process. You will receive extensive hands-on training in testing, report writing, parent and school consultation, and the full clinical workflow that helps children succeed.

Because this is a small, specialized practice, you will gain broad exposure to both the clinical side of child psychology and, if you are interested, the business side of how a successful private practice operates.

What You’ll Do

Conduct psychological and educational testing for children and adolescents

Write clear, detailed, high-quality psychological reports

Meet with parents to review findings, recommendations, and next steps

Consult with schools, teachers, and other professionals as needed

Participate in child-focused assessment and case planning

Provide minimal administrative support related to clinical workflow and documentation

Learn and apply Dr. King’s specialized approach to helping students identify how they learn best and what support they need to succeed

What You’ll Learn

Advanced child and adolescent psychological assessment

Report writing that is practical, thorough, and action-oriented

How to lead parent meetings, school meetings, and teacher consultations

How to think through complex student cases with a highly individualized lens

A proven, specialized system designed to help students improve academically and emotionally

The day-to-day operations of a successful private practice, including practice ownership insight for candidates interested in building their own future practice

Who This Role Is For

A newly licensed PhD or PsyD graduate who wants strong mentorship and real-world clinical development

A licensed psychologist currently in a school-based role who wants less bureaucracy, less monotony, and more direct impact with children and families

A clinician who wants to build deep expertise in child psychology, assessment, and consultation early in their career

Qualifications

PhD or PsyD in Psychology

Licensed Psychologist required

Strong interest in child and adolescent psychology

Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills

Professional, organized, and detail-oriented

Eager to learn, coachable, and motivated to grow under direct mentorship

Comfortable working in a small, high-trust, in-person practice environment

Why This Role Stands Out
Most early-career psychology roles do not offer this level of direct mentorship, specialized training, and broad exposure. In this role, you will not be siloed. You will learn directly from an experienced practitioner in a respected private practice, build real expertise in assessment and consultation, and develop skills that can accelerate your long-term career in child psychology.

If you want to do meaningful work, grow quickly, and learn a specialized approach that has helped large numbers of students and families, this is a unique opportunity to begin the next stage of your career.
