Architectural Intern
OPEN Architecture is currently seeking architects to join its Beijing office.
Requirement:
- Master student, student in the gap year or undergraduate student above grade 4, majoring in Architecture or related field;
- Minimum three months, six months and longer preferred;
- Good design sensitivity;
- Proficient with work-related software (including but not limited to AutoCAD, Rhino, SketchUp, Enscape, Adobe Creative Suite, and other work-related software) or physical modeling;
- Previous work experience preferred.

OPEN’s Founding Partners, LI Hu and HUANG Wenjing, have served as Kenzo Tange Design Critics in Architecture at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, and as Visiting Professors at Tsinghua University and China Central Academy of Fine Arts. LI Hu is an Honorary Fellow AIA. Prior to OPEN, LI was a Partner at Steven Holl Architects, and Director of Columbia University GSAPP’s Studio-X Beijing. HUANG Wenjing is a licensed architect in New York State and a member of the AIA. HUANG was an associate at the New York-based firm Pei Cobb Freed and Partners.
OPEN has been widely recognized for its innovative work. Recent awards the firm received include the AIA International Design Awards Honor Award (US), Arcasia Awards Gold Award, Design for Asia Awards, LEAF Awards (EU), AR Future Project Awards (UK), P/A Awards (US), AZ Awards (CAN), AIA Education Facility Design Award of Excellence (US), Civic Trust Awards (UK), and Iconic Awards Best of Best (GER), among many others.
OPEN’s work has been collected by MoMA in New York and M+ Museum in Hong Kong, and widely published and frequently exhibited around the world, such as the Venice Architecture Biennale, the São Paulo Architecture Biennale, and the Chicago Architecture Biennale.
OPEN was the Architect of the Year selected by Dezeen China Awards 2023.
