PENINSULA CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE LOOKING FOR SUMMER INTERN

 About Us:

Peninsula Church of the Nazarene is located in Long Beach, Washington—a welcoming coastal community on the scenic Long Beach Peninsula where natural beauty meets genuine hospitality. This charming small town is known for its 28 miles of pristine sandy beaches, the longest continuous beach in the U.S., offering a relaxed pace of life and stunning Pacific sunsets.

With a permanent population of less than 1,500 residents, Long Beach transforms throughout the summer as tourists are drawn to its natural wonders and community celebrations. The town swells dramatically during signature events like the World’s longest Garage Sale on Memorial Day Weekend, Pacific Coast Running Festival, 4th of July Fireworks, Sandsations (sand sculpture festival that transforms the beach and town into an outdoor art gallery) and the renowned Washington State International Kite Festival each August, which attracts more than 100,000 visitors annually.

The community offers easy access to outdoor recreation including hiking, fishing, beachcombing, and wildlife viewing. Key features include the scenic Discovery Trail, a bustling boardwalk, Cape Disappointment State Park with its historic lighthouses, and the unique World Kite Museum. Local shops and restaurants serve fresh seafood and provide a family-friendly atmosphere with quirky coastal charm. Additional shopping and sites just across the river in Astoria/Warrenton, Oregon.

Long Beach provides an ideal setting for ministry—a close-knit community that values authentic relationships and connection, enriched by the rhythm of seasonal tourists who create opportunities for hospitality and outreach. Here, coastal living meets meaningful service in a place where both residents and visitors experience the beauty of God's creation and the warmth of genuine community.

The church is located in a prime spot on the main highway through Long Beach.  We own almost an entire city block. Worship runs 25-30 in attendance each Sunday.   The congregation is made up primarily of middle-age adults through Senior Adults in their 90’s.
