Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Project Details:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive intern to join the Engineering Team this summer. The ideal candidate will gain hands-on experience while supporting engineering documentation updates by revising plant layout drawings and redline electrical drawings to reflect current conditions and changes on the plant floor. This role will help ensure facility and electrical documentation is accurate, up to date, and aligned with operational needs.
- Update plant layout drawings based on field observations and change requests.
- Revises redline electrical drawings to reflect equipment and layout modifications.
- Verify drawing accuracy through coordination with engineering, maintenance, and operations.
- Incorporate markups and maintain version control of drawings.
- Organize and maintain drawing files and documentation standards.

Education
- Attending a four-year college or university to attain a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field; or already awarded bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
Required Skills
- Clear written communication and documentation skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Teams/SharePoint).
- Interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional plant teams.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and markups.
- AutoCAD or similar CAD software proficiency.
- Basic understanding of plant layouts or electrical schematics.

- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
- Ability to make effective presentations on complex topics to plant management and other stakeholders.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.

- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
