Quality Engineering Intern
Job Summary
The Quality Engineering Intern will support the Quality Management team by performing hands-on mechanical and performance testing of couplings used to join steel and cast‑iron pipe. This role is ideal for a student interested in quality engineering, mechanical testing, and data-driven process improvement.
Responsibilities
- Conduct mechanical, dimensional, and performance testing of pipe couplings in a controlled laboratory environment.
- Collect, organize, and analyze test data to evaluate product performance and identify trends.
- Develop and maintain spreadsheets for data collection, statistical analysis, and calculation of CpK values.
- Prepare clear summaries of findings and provide recommendations for product or process improvements.
- Assist the Quality Management team with ongoing quality initiatives, documentation, and root‑cause investigations.
- Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized lab workspace.
Skills and Education
- Currently pursing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; familiarity with statistical tools is a plus.
- Ability to work independently while taking direction from senior quality staff.
- Interest in hands-on testing and mechanical systems.
