Job Summary:
The Assistant CReM Lab Manager role is ideal for recent graduates looking to gain hands-on experience in biomedical research operations. This position supports the day-to-day management of a large, collaborative stem cell research lab by helping to maintain laboratory safety, organization, and compliance. You’ll work closely with researchers and staff to ensure that essential lab functions run smoothly—making it a strong stepping stone for those considering research, biotech, or graduate school paths.
Key Responsibilities:
●Perform daily lab upkeep tasks including checking deliveries, restocking supplies, disposing of lab
waste, and maintaining tissue culture (TC) room readiness.
●Assist with weekly equipment maintenance: cleaning TC hoods and incubators, autoclaving materials,
flushing eyewash stations, and updating cleaning logs.
●Help manage shared reagents and supplies; aliquot materials and coordinate fridge and freezer storage.
●Support basic training, onboarding tours, and serve as a point of contact when the lab manager is away.
●Contribute to ongoing safety and compliance projects (e.g., chemical inventory audits, equipment
calibration coordination, lab safety preparations).
●Respond to minor lab emergencies and help maintain shared community and break spaces.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
A recent bachelor’s degree in biology, biomedical engineering, biochemistry, or a related field.
Some prior lab experience (through coursework, internships, or research).
Excellent organization, communication, and time management skills.
A proactive mindset and willingness to learn on the job.
Interest in lab management, research support, or scientific operations.
