Employment Opportunity - 2026-27 School Year 

STEM and Gifted & Talented Teacher 

Full-time 10-month position, Tenure Track

 

Haworth Public School seeks an innovative educator to serve in a shared role supporting elementary STEM instruction and Gifted & Talented programming in the upper grades. This position focuses on delivering engaging, hands-on instruction that challenges students, promotes inquiry, and supports advanced learning.

 

Job Responsibilities:

STEM Instruction (Elementary Level):

  • Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned STEM instruction through hands-on, inquiry-based, and project-based learning experiences.
  • Integrate science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to promote critical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Incorporate instructional technology and design-based learning to deepen student understanding.
  • Use assessment data to guide instruction and support student growth.

Gifted & Talented Instruction (Upper Elementary/Middle Level):

  • Develop and implement differentiated curriculum aligned with NJ Student Learning Standards.
  • Provide enrichment and acceleration opportunities for gifted and high-achieving students.
  • Foster creativity, advanced critical thinking, and independent inquiry.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to support differentiation and extend learning opportunities.
  • Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress and programming.

Qualifications:

  • Valid New Jersey Elementary K–6 Instructional Certification required.
  • Science specialization (Grades 5–8) preferred.
  • Experience working with gifted and advanced learners preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of differentiated instruction, enrichment strategies, and instructional technology.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.

 

Annual salary range $55,000-$75,000 commensurate upon experience.  Benefit eligible.  EOE
