We’re looking for a Pediatric Behavioral Health Clinician (BHC) to join our integrated care team at Plaza Community Health Center, Arcata, California, a vibrant, coastal college town surrounded by redwoods, ocean, and community spirit.
The Opportunity
As a Pediatric BHC, you’ll play a key role on our interdisciplinary care team—collaborating with physicians, nurse practitioners, case managers, and medical assistants to identify, triage, and support children and families with behavioral and mental health needs. This is a dynamic position ideal for someone who values collaboration, continuity of care, and community impact.
What You’ll Do
- Provide assessments, brief therapy, skills training, and referrals for children, adolescents, and families.
- Collaborate closely with primary care providers and other team members through warm hand-offs and integrated treatment planning.
- Support family systems and parenting challenges to promote a stable, nurturing environment for every child.
- Coordinate with case managers and community resources to address social, emotional, and environmental needs.
- Contribute to a culture of compassion, inclusion, and continuous learning.
What We’re Looking For
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT), or Clinical Psychologist in California (active and in good standing).
- Master’s degree or related field with emphasis on child and family systems.
- 2–5 years of pediatric behavioral health experience (ages 6–17).
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care, CBT, play therapy, and family-centered approaches.
- Collaborative, flexible, and dedicated to serving diverse communities.
- Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.
