Civil CAD Technician

Design the drawings that bring complex engineering projects to life. Are you a motivated Civil CAD Technician who enjoys turning concepts into clear, buildable plans? At PND Engineers, we’re looking for a skilled Civil CAD Technician to support our civil and structural teams in our small but growing Kennewick office.

Responsibilities:

As a Civil CAD Technician, you’ll support engineers in developing accurate, well-coordinated construction documents. You’ll learn by doing, with mentorship and increasing responsibility over time. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare clear, accurate, and complete drawings using a variety of tools including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS software.
  • Assist with civil and public works plan sets, including site development, roadways, and utility systems.
  • Develop plan and profile drawings under the direction of engineers and senior designers
  • Incorporate information from surveys, site studies, sketches, and engineer’s drawings
  • Review and check drawings for accuracy, completeness, and consistency with CAD standards
  • Participate in multidisciplinary design coordination
  • Maintain organized drawing files and follow project-specific CAD procedures
  • Support revisions and updates throughout design and construction
  • Managing multiple tasks while producing high-quality work within budget and schedule constraints



 

Minimum Qualifications:

This role is ideal for an experienced CAD professional who enjoys teamwork and technical problem-solving. To succeed, you’ll bring:

  • CAD experience ranging from entry level to 5 years; candidates with 3+ years of experience are preferred, but those with less experience are strongly encouraged to apply
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD; ability and interest in gaining proficiency in Civil 3D, Revit, and other design applications
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to read, understand, and develop civil and structural drawings
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an office environment with engineers and technicians
  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail
  • Willingness to work occasional overtime as project needs require
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of CAD experience preferred.
  • 2-year associate degree in drafting, design technology, or related field, OR completion of technical design/drafting certification preferred. 
  • Construction experience a plus.
  • Coursework or exposure to civil site plans, grading, or utilities
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office
  • Construction or field experience
