Quality Control Intern- Summer Program 2026
Jack B. Parson Ready Mix (JBP), a CRH company and a leading ready-mix concrete producer in Northern Utah, offers full-time summer QC internships for a select group of high-performing candidates. There is a broad diversity of work activities required to make a ready mix concrete operation successful. This internship opportunity will expose you to the operational and technical functions that ensure ready mix concrete materials meet specified performance requirements.
All concrete materials incorporated into a project must meet strict quality standards. The Quality Control Intern helps provide testing information and documentation to ensure quality concrete is delivered to each project.
Position Overview
This is an internship/trainee position working to gain further experience in a ready mix concrete quality control program.
This position involves supporting experienced Concrete Quality Control professionals in both a laboratory and field environment pulling samples, performing testing, and supporting plant operations.
The applicant will gain experience entering concrete test results into internal databases and learning production quality procedures.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- Participate in company safety and quality training programs.
- Learn ready mix concrete quality control methods and reporting procedures.
- Work as a QC Technician trainee supporting plant and field testing.
- Perform concrete testing including slump, air content, unit weight, temperature, and casting cylinders.
- Assist with breaking and documenting compressive strength tests.
- Enter test results into internal quality tracking databases.
- Assist in monitoring aggregate gradations and moisture content.
- Learn how to communicate field performance information to plant personnel.
- Become exposed to batching operations and mix design fundamentals.
- Learn the operational value that quality control testing provides.

Education/Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Current enrollment in accredited Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related degree program preferred.
Work Requirements

Knowledge/Skill Requirements
Must have a current and valid driver’s license.
Flexible hours working around class times. At least 40 hours per week during summer months.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear.
The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, and lift 10–50 lbs.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Work Environment
