The impact you will have: With limited supervision, you will perform a range of semi-skilled maintenance and repair tasks that may include work in automotive, carpentry, electrical, low-voltage, glazing, HVAC-R, painting, and/or plumbing. Your efforts will help ensure that our facilities, vehicles, and equipment remain safe, reliable, and supportive of an enriching educational environment for our students, staff, and community. As a Fleet Maintenance, you will be be responsible for (but not limited to):

  • Performs a variety of semi-skilled tasks for efficient repair and maintenance of vehicles, and/or equipment
  • Performs diagnostics, troubleshooting, service, and repairs on various vehicles, and/or equipment
  • May order services, supplies, and materials
  • Safely operates and maintains San José Unified vehicles, equipment, and tools as appropriate
  • Utilizes technology appropriately to complete job tasks efficiently and in alignment with San José Unified procedures

 

What you need for this position:

  • Completion of 12th grade or equivalent
  • Relevant training and experience in building, equipment, or automotive maintenance preferred

 

Licenses and/or Certifications:

  • California Class B California Driver's License with passenger and air brake endorsements
  • Commercial Medical Certificate
  • CCDET, Air Break Inspector, ASE Automotive, ASE Medium/Heavy Truck, ASE School Bus, BIT Inspection, and Forklift certifications preferred
  • Air Conditioning Recovery and Recycle License preferred
