Maintenance Intern
Position Summary
The Maintenance Intern provides hands-on support to the Facilities and Maintenance team within a manufacturing environment. This role offers practical experience in equipment upkeep, facility maintenance, vendor coordination, safety compliance, and preventative maintenance processes.
This is a six (6) month internship assignment, with the opportunity for extension based on performance, business needs, and overall fit within the organization.
This position is ideal for a student or recent graduate interested in industrial maintenance, facilities operations, mechanical systems, or manufacturing support.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with preventative maintenance tasks on manufacturing equipment and facility systems
- Support basic mechanical, electrical, and facility repair activities under supervision
- Help maintain maintenance logs, service records, and documentation
- Assist with equipment inspections and safety checks
- Support troubleshooting of minor mechanical or facility issues
- Coordinate with external vendors for scheduled maintenance and service visits under supervision
- Communicate professionally with vendors regarding service scheduling, site access, and documentation requirements
- Assist with tracking vendor service reports and ensuring documentation is properly filed
- Support work order tracking and maintenance reporting systems
- Help organize tools, spare parts, and maintenance inventory
- Assist with facility upkeep, including lighting, minor plumbing, and general building maintenance
- Follow all company safety guidelines and procedures
- Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned
