Position Overview: 

EJ Therapy is seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join our team. The TVI will play a crucial role in providing specialized instruction, support, and advocacy for students with visual impairments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students and contribute to their academic and personal growth.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments, tailoring lessons to meet individual needs and learning styles.
  • Develop and implement appropriate educational strategies, accommodations, and modifications to ensure access to the curriculum.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and other professionals to support student learning
  • Participate in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Provide consultation and guidance to educators and families regarding instructional strategies and accommodations
  • Advocate for appropriate services, assistive technology, and learning supports for students with visual impairments

 

Qualifications:

  • TVI license or enrolled in the program
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.

 

Education:

Bachelor’s, Master’s, or higher degree in Education, Special Education

 

Experience:

Candidates currently pursuing TVI certification are encouraged to apply. 

 

Work Hours:

This position operates on a Monday to Friday schedule with flexible hours to accommodate students' needs.

 

Location:

Wayne, Ashland, and Richland County, OH
