Aquatic Field Technician

What you would do for Lake & Pond Biologists:

Assist with the completion of aquatic plant studies and management. 

Collect samples for lake water quality analysis.

Assist with GIS and GPS mappingin the field.

General equipment maintenance/troubleshooting.

Assist with fountain and aeration system installation/troubleshooting.

Assist with fish surveys.

 

What Lake & Pond Biologists would do for you:

Give you valuable and practical experience in aquatic system studies. Increase your understanding of aquatic ecosystems and their management.

Teach you to identify aquatic plants that are frequently and infrequently found in Indiana. 

Provide instruction on small watercraft navigation and aquatic systems mapping.

 

Qualifications:

A highly motivated employee who can work well independently.

A valid driver’s license is required along with a willingness to drive a pick-up truck towing a boat trailer. 

Applicants must be able to work cooperatively with others and possess the motivation to learn while working hard. 

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or current enrollment in an accredited college while working toward a degree.

 

Internship Specifics:

Thirty-two or more hours per week. Approximate dates: June 1st – August 28th, 2026

Compensation: $15.00/hour or more, depending upon experience.
