Meter Technician

Complete Meter Service (est. 1990) is a Michigan-based electrical metering company specializing in utility-grade meter testing, calibration, and compliance. Approved by Consumers Energy and Detroit Edison, we support commercial, industrial, and utility clients across Michigan and surrounding states.

The Role

We are seeking a motivated, dependable Meter Technician to replace and service electrical meters across the state of Michigan. This is a field-based role requiring travel and independent work, often in rural areas. You will be trusted to represent our company professionally while working safely on energized systems up to 600V. No experience in meter services is required — we provide paid training — but electrical experience is strongly preferred.

 

 

What You’ll Do

  • Replace and install electrical meters in residential and commercial settings
  • Work safely on live systems up to 600 volts
  • Troubleshoot metering and basic electrical issues in the field
  • Travel throughout Michigan (company vehicle provided if applicable)
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting
  • Represent Complete Meter Service professionally with clients

 

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Electrical or technical experience preferred (apprentice, journeyman, trade school, military, etc.)
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
  • Organized and efficient with time management
  • Professional communication skills
  • Willingness to travel within Michigan

Compensation

Pay is based on experience and demonstrated capability. Entry-level applicants may be considered; however, compensation will reflect mechanical skill, math proficiency, problem-solving ability, and overall field readiness.
