Role Description
As an Strategic Proposal Writer – Legal, Policy & Innovation Intern within SkyIT’s Proposal Team, you will play a key role in transforming complex regulatory, contractual, and technical information into clear, persuasive narratives for government and international funding submissions. Supporting proposals tied to advanced fleet intelligence platforms and enterprise asset management solutions, you will help ensure that proposal content aligns with legal requirements, regulatory frameworks, and procurement standards.
This role is designed for law students, JD candidates, recent law graduates, and individuals with legal domain expertise who are interested in gaining hands-on experience in legal writing, regulatory interpretation, and government contracting processes. In this role, you will translate statutory and regulatory requirements into well-structured proposal narratives, ensuring that submissions clearly communicate compliance, risk mitigation, and legal alignment with agency expectations.
Interns will contribute to the development of executive summaries, compliance narratives, regulatory justifications, and policy-aligned messaging, strengthening the legal credibility and clarity of SkyIT’s proposal submissions. This experience offers a unique opportunity to apply legal research, analytical reasoning, and persuasive legal writing within real-world federal, municipal, and international procurement environments.

Key Responsibilities
- Draft and refine executive summaries, compliance narratives, and legal justifications for fleet management and asset management RFP submissions.
- Translate complex statutory, regulatory, and contractual requirements into clear, persuasive proposal content.
- Review proposal materials to ensure alignment with procurement regulations, compliance standards, and solicitation requirements.
- Structure and edit large-scale proposal documents to maintain legal clarity, logical flow, and evaluator alignment.
- Collaborate with technical, legal, and financial stakeholders to incorporate subject-matter expertise into legally sound proposal narratives.
- Conduct legal and regulatory research to strengthen compliance documentation and policy alignment.
- Ensure consistency in legal terminology, tone, and documentation standards across proposal submissions.
- Refine content to meet strict compliance, formatting, and submission requirements associated with government RFPs.
Required Qualifications
- Masters degree in Professional Writing, English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
- Demonstrated strength in persuasive, analytical, or technical writing.
- Exceptional editing skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to simplify complex technical information for diverse audiences.
- Experience producing structured, long-form documents under deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate-level coursework (MA/MFA) in Writing, Rhetoric, Communications, or related discipline.

- Experience collaborating with cross-functional or technical teams.
Internship Details:
This program offers a valuable opportunity to develop expertise in identifying grant opportunities, crafting compelling proposals, and navigating complex funding guidelines within a dynamic technology environment. Overall, this opportunity equips students with practical experience and personalized guidance to navigate professional environments with confidence.
- The minimum internship duration is 3 months and minimum working hours per week is 20 hours.
- This is an unpaid internship.
- All applicants MUST be a university senior or above.
- We are a Canadian-based company.
- All positions are remote.
- We require mandatory meeting availability (depending on your role).
- Work hours are based in MST (Mountain Standard Time).
