GCCS is looking for a caring and motivated individual to join our Educational Support Services (ESS) team at Calvin Christian High School. Teacher Certification and prior educational experience are preferred but not required.

Daily job responsibilities include individual and small group tutoring,
mentoring students, supporting students in general education classrooms, and collaborating with teaching staff. Candidates should be committed to carrying
out the mission and vision of Grandville Calvin Christian Schools and be able to articulate their faith story and perspective on Christian education.

This is a full-time position with an expected 35 hours per week.
The role of the ESS paraprofessional is to work with classroom teachers and the ESS Student Support Team to support the academic and social-emotional needs of students.

Reports to: The Educational Support Services Director and Building Principal

Qualifications:
– The ability to teach and care well for students who need academic and/or social-emotional support
– The ability to collaborate well with the ESS director, the Student Support Team, classroom teachers, and other faculty
– The ability to work independently and seek solutions to issues as they arise
– Teaching certification preferred
– Teaching experience preferred
– Bachelor’s degree in education or related field preferred

Duties:
– Collaborate with classroom teachers to support student needs
– Carry out instructional plans as directed by the classroom teacher in collaboration with the ESS Director
– Push into classrooms or pull out individuals or small groups of students to reteach, tutor, and provide other academic support as directed by classroom
teachers
– Monitor and document student progress as directed by classroom teacher and/or ESS Director
– Communicate student observations and accomplishments with classroom teacher and ESS Director
– Communicate encouragement with students about their progress

– Participate in staff professional development as appropriate
