Responsibilities

• Work closely with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, sensor engineers, algorithm developers, soft goods engineers, and other cross-functional partners to assemble, build, and test Eight Sleep hardware products
• Follow assembly instructions and engineering specifications to build hardware prototypes and production units
• Perform quality checks and functional testing on assembled hardware
• Use hand tools, soldering equipment, and other standard lab equipment to complete assembly tasks
• Document build issues, defects, or process improvements and communicate them to the engineering team
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace

Minimum Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field
• Hands-on experience with hand tools (screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers, etc.)
• Experience with soldering (through-hole and/or surface mount)
• Ability to follow detailed written and visual assembly instructions
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work in-person at our San Francisco office

Preferred Qualifications

• Coursework or project experience in electronics, mechatronics, or product design
• Experience working in a lab, makerspace, or hardware prototyping environment
• Familiarity with basic electrical test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes)
• A hardworking, self-driven mindset with a passion for innovation and building things
