Responsibilities
- Work closely with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, sensor engineers, algorithm developers, soft goods engineers, and other cross-functional partners to assemble, build, and test Eight Sleep hardware products
- Follow assembly instructions and engineering specifications to build hardware prototypes and production units
- Perform quality checks and functional testing on assembled hardware
- Use hand tools, soldering equipment, and other standard lab equipment to complete assembly tasks
- Document build issues, defects, or process improvements and communicate them to the engineering team
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace
Minimum Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field
- Hands-on experience with hand tools (screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers, etc.)
- Experience with soldering (through-hole and/or surface mount)
- Ability to follow detailed written and visual assembly instructions
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work in-person at our San Francisco office
Preferred Qualifications
- Coursework or project experience in electronics, mechatronics, or product design
- Experience working in a lab, makerspace, or hardware prototyping environment
- Familiarity with basic electrical test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes)
- A hardworking, self-driven mindset with a passion for innovation and building things
