About the Role

At MentorX, we are building next-generation AI-native products that bridge education and real-world career readiness.

We are looking for an Associate AI Product Manager — an entry-level product role designed for candidates with strong product thinking and high AI literacy.

This is not a coding role. Instead, you will learn how to translate real user problems into AI-powered solutions, design workflows around LLM capabilities, and evaluate whether AI should (or should not) be used in a feature.

You will work closely with senior PMs, engineers, and designers to ship real features and grow into a full Product Manager.

 

What You Will Do

Product Thinking & Execution

  • Assist in defining product features, user flows, and success metrics
  • Draft PRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Break down ambiguous ideas into structured product requirements
  • Participate in sprint planning and feature reviews

AI-Native Product Design

  • Design workflows using LLMs, agents, and automation tools
  • Evaluate when AI improves user experience vs. creates friction
  • Prototype product logic using prompting, prompt chains, or agent workflows
  • Test and iterate AI outputs for reliability and usability

User & Data Insight

  • Analyze user behavior and identify pain points
  • Run small experiments to validate product assumptions
  • Track feature performance and propose improvements

Research & Market Awareness

  • Monitor trends in Generative AI and AI products
  • Analyze competing products and summarize actionable insights
  • Help define product positioning and differentiation

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Communicate product logic to engineers and designers
  • Align technical feasibility with business goals
  • Support product launches and documentation

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or graduating soon) in any analytical field (Business, Engineering, CS, Psychology, Economics, Information Systems, etc.)
  • Strong logical thinking and structured communication
  • Ability to break complex problems into clear steps
  • Comfortable writing structured documents

AI Literacy (Required)

  • You do NOT need to train models, but you must:
  • Regularly use AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, etc.)
  • Understand basic concepts: prompts, context window, hallucination, reasoning limits
  • Know strengths & weaknesses of LLMs in real tasks
  • Be able to design workflows using AI instead of manually doing work

Communication

  • Fluent in English and Mandarin (for internal collaboration)

Preferred (Nice to Have)

  • Personal projects using AI tools (automation, agents, workflows, etc.)
  • Experience writing PRDs, research reports, or structured documentation
  • Basic understanding of APIs or no-code tools (Zapier, n8n, etc.)
  • Internship experience in product, consulting, operations, or analytics
