Career Ambassador

Position Overview:  

The Career Ambassador will support the delivery of career education programs and services at the UNC Career Center. This role involves collaborating with Career Center staff to provide career guidance, assist with workshops and events, and help enhance student engagement with career resources. The position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in career services, event planning, and professional development.  

 

Responsibilities:  

Career Education Support  

Assist in developing and presenting career readiness workshops on topics like resumes, LinkedIn, and interviews.  

Participate in tabling and other community marketing initiatives for large scale career center events. 

Provide peer-to-peer support during drop-in career coaching sessions, helping students navigate career resources.  

Stay updated on career education technology platforms, such as Handshake, and assist students in using these tools.  

Event Coordination  

Support the planning and execution of career fairs, alumni panels, and other professional development events.  

Coordinate logistics, such as venue setup, guest communication, and registration.  

Help evaluate program success by gathering student feedback and preparing summary reports.  

 

Collaboration and Outreach  

Partner with student organizations and academic departments to promote career resources and services.  

Work collaboratively with Career Center staff and other university departments to increase student engagement in career programs.  

Represent UNC Career Center at university events and contribute to outreach strategies for engaging diverse student populations.  

Administration and Communication  

Assist with marketing efforts, including social media updates, career fairs, newsletters, and event promotion.  

Maintain accurate records of student interactions and workshop participation for reporting purposes.  

Respond to student inquiries via email or in-person interactions with professionalism and clarity.  

  

Qualifications:  

Enrolled student at UNC-Chapel Hill. 

Strong interest in career development and student support services.  

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  

Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines, and demonstrate attention to detail.  

Experience with event planning, public speaking, or marketing is a plus.  

Availability: *August dates for mandatory in-person trainings*  

Start date would be Monday, August 17th  

Mandatory training from August 13th to August 14th
