Student Ambassador Essential Job Functions
1. Represent the University – Realize the position is on the frontlines as ambassadors for the University. A prospective student’s image of Union University is many times formed from the conduct, conversation, and appearance of Student Ambassadors
2. Lead campus tours for prospective students and families (during set times each week or special events)
3. Assist the Director of Campus Visits with visits by entering data, making phone calls, and sending mail as well as assist the enrollment counselors with daily tasks
4. Assisting with campus visit experiences (including school/church group visits)
5. Assist with other duties as assigned by the Director for Campus Visits, Enrollment Counselor, and the Vice President for Enrollment Management.
6. Represent the University at off-campus recruiting functions and events as assigned.
7. Represent the university with excellence in conduct, conversation, and appearance.
Student Enrollment Counselor Essential Job Functions:
1. Serve as a student contact and point person for prospective students.
2. Provide personal follow up to prospective students and their families through ongoing email, letters, and telephone calls through each stage of the enrollment process.
3. Assist with campus visit experiences.
4. Represent the University at off-campus recruiting functions and events as assigned.
5. Represent the university with excellence in conduct, conversation, and appearance.
6. Lead campus tours for prospective students and families as needed.
7. Assist with other duties as assigned by the Enrollment Counselor, Director for Campus Visits, and the Vice President for Enrollment Management.
8. Must be able to complete in office hours during the fall and spring semesters.
Qualifications & Requirements for Ambassadors and Student Enrollment Counselors-
Must be a current Union University student with a 2.5 GPA or higher; a passion for Christian higher Education, a strong personal commitment to Christ, a strong work ethic with excellent interpersonal skills; the ability to work well both independently and as a part of a team. Preference will be given to applicants with a demonstrated commitment to customer service, the ability to work in a fast-paced college environment, and the ability to follow directions with minimum guidelines and supervision.
A one academic year commitment is required. Weekly required hours of service are required during the fall and spring semester in addition to working various campus events. We will review your position at the end of your 1-year commitment to see if you would like to continue and if it seems to be a good fit for you.
